Welcoming a new life is a sacred journey, and preparing for it begins long before labor starts. At Inspire Doula Services, I believe one of the most valuable parts of support is being able to connect early on—whether in person or virtually. If you’ve booked your first virtual prenatal session with me, you may be wondering what to expect. Let me walk you through it.

Setting the Tone

Your first prenatal visit is all about connection. Before we dive into logistics or details, I want to hear your story. Every family comes into pregnancy with unique hopes, fears, past experiences, and expectations. This visit is an opportunity for us to build trust, establish open communication, and create a safe space where your questions and feelings are respected and valued.

Sharing Your Vision for Birth

We’ll talk about your wishes and goals for your upcoming birth. Do you picture a calm and quiet atmosphere? Are you hoping for a natural birth, or do you want to understand your pain relief options? Maybe you’re planning for a VBAC or navigating a previous birth experience. Whatever your story, this session helps us begin shaping a plan that reflects your values and desires.

Education and Resources

During our virtual prenatal session, I’ll share evidence-based information about what to expect during pregnancy and childbirth. Together, we’ll explore topics such as:

  • Comfort measures for pregnancy and labor

  • Positions and movements that support your body and baby

  • How your partner or support person can be actively involved

  • Questions to ask your care provider at upcoming appointments

I’ll also introduce Body Ready Method® strategies and Spinning Babies® techniques that can help prepare your body for labor and birth. These practical tools give you confidence and empower you with options.

Customizing Support

No two pregnancies are alike. This visit is tailored to your needs. Maybe you’re dealing with physical discomforts, or perhaps you’re feeling anxious about labor. We’ll talk through what matters most to you right now and create a roadmap for support moving forward.

Practical Next Steps

Before we wrap up, we’ll go over what’s ahead—your next prenatal session, resources I’ll send your way, and how you can reach out anytime in between. You’ll leave this first visit knowing you’re not walking this journey alone—you have someone in your corner who is fully invested in your birth experience.

I would be honored to walk this journey with you.

With joy,
