Birth & Labor Support
What is a Birth Doula?
A birth doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible, whether birthing vaginally or via cesarean.

Our Birth Doula Support Includes:
• Prenatal Visits: Two meetings to discuss birth plans and preferences. We also outline what to do when you are in labor and answer any questions.
• Labor and Delivery Support: Continuous support during labor and birth, including comfort measures like massage, positioning, and breathing techniques.
• Postpartum Follow-Up: A visit to discuss the birth experience, assist with breastfeeding, and provide resources for postpartum care.

Postpartum Support
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula provides in-home support to families in the first weeks after birth, helping them adjust to life with a new baby.

Our Postpartum Doula Support Includes:
• Emotional Support: Listening and offering reassurance to new parents.
• Breastfeeding Assistance: Guidance and support for successful breastfeeding.
• Newborn Care: Help with bathing, diapering, and soothing techniques.
• Resource Referrals: Connecting families with local resources and support groups. We also connect clients with other local doulas who offer larger postpartum support packages.

Body Ready Birth Workshops
What is a Body Ready Birth Workshop?

Body Ready Birth is a program designed to prepare the body for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.  The workshop focuses on optimizing physical readiness through exercises, techniques, and education addressing birth biomechanics. The goal is to enhance comfort, reduce complications, and support a smoother birthing process.

A Body Ready Birth workshop typically includes:
1. Education on Biomechanics: Understanding how the body works during pregnancy and birth, and how to align and move to facilitate a more straightforward birth process.
2. Exercise and Movement: Specific exercises that strengthen and balance the muscles involved in pregnancy and childbirth, such as pelvic floor exercises, stretching, and posture alignment techniques.
3. Breathing Techniques: Learning effective breathing methods to manage pain and support relaxation during labor.
4. Pain Management Strategies: Non-medical pain relief options include massage, positioning, and visualization.
5. Partner Involvement: Techniques and tips for partners to support the birthing person effectively, including hands-on support and emotional encouragement.

The workshop is interactive, with participants engaging in practical activities, demonstrations, and discussions to fully understand and practice the techniques.
