1. Stay Calm & Rested
Rest while you can – early labor can last a while. Take a nap, use a heating pad, or relax with music or a warm bath. Stress can slow labor; breathe deeply, pray, or meditate to stay calm.
2. Keep Your Body in Balance
Use techniques such as the forward-leaning inversion, side-lying release, or rebozo sifting. Try Body Ready Method® exercises to improve alignment and support your baby's position.
3. Gentle Movement
Walk, sway, or do circles on a birth ball. Avoid slumping or reclining for long periods. Try wide-leg walking or going up and down stairs sideways to help the baby engage in the pelvis.
4. Nourish & Hydrate
Eat light snacks like fruit, toast, broth, or smoothies. Sip water or electrolyte drinks regularly to stay energized and support muscle function.
5. Encourage Oxytocin
Cuddle, kiss, laugh, or use nipple stimulation to naturally support contractions. Prayer, worship, and quiet moments with loved ones can help hormones flow.
6. Soak or Shower
A warm bath or shower can ease tension and allow labor to build gradually. Use upright or side-lying positions in the tub to rest while labor continues.
7. Stay Connected to Purpose
This is the beginning of a holy and powerful journey. Use Scripture, affirmations, and music to stay centered and grounded in peace.
